A winter photo

Since is looks like we are gonna have a load of snow later this week I will be having another go at some nice winter photo's up at Dovedale, so could someone please give me some feedback on the 2 photos below, and some ideas of how to get better shots this time around ?

hi andrew
looking at your pictures your exposure is way off, the snow is too blue, and the second is extremely dark.
if at all possible, shoot in RAW,if not try to overexpose for the snow as the snow tricks your sensor into thinking its brighter than it is, and underexposes the shot.
Dovedale is a lovely place anytime of the year, and the wife and i will be going to Bakewell later this week, weather permitting.
