Took the kids to the zoo yesterday on a rare random day off. We had a blast! Photography is a little challenging when you're the only adult with a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old with a penchant for running away (at least she announces "I'm Running!" when she does it). But I got some ok shots.

I usually say a bad hair day is still better than a no hair day but that Emu proves me wrong !!!!

I'm running LOL

Nice set

Would you like me to change your username to Missus Robbins.Photo, or Robbins.Photo North?

;)

Nice set!

Haha, I think I'll have to go a lot more often than twice a year to compete for that title!

Thanks guys, I was really pleased with these.

Great set - the Ibis made me laugh out loud! Loving the pensive frog too :)

These are fantastic! I'm there all the time, some of those enclosures are almost impossible to shoot through!

That frog looks like it has seen the devil himself. Either that, or he had a real bad breakup! :biglaugh:

I really like the the snake shot Civ, love the composition too.. :)

The snake is a funny one. My son loves to take pictures and I just bought him a beefed up "shockproof" point and shoot (he's 4, he drops stuff a lot) so that he can carry it in his pocket when we're out and about. I haven't quite figured out the settings yet and his flash was on. The snake is behind plexiglass in a dark room - my first few shots were meh. Then he took a few pictures and his little P&S flash worked perfectly as off camera flash for my shots! LOL. His stunk though, as they were all flared flash off the glass.

And Barb, I know. Plexiglass seems like it would be nicer than fencing, but even when it's clean it does weird things to your white balance. And most of the time it's smeared with finger and nose prints!

Weird maybe, but I like the baboon. Is it sad or is it pouting. Perhaps it just dropped it's icecream bar after only one lick?

I love that frog!!!
They are all great photos!
