A4 B&W laser printer requirements

I'm looking for a B&W A4 laser printer, that can give me prints comparable to them I developed in my darkroom way back.

And a more general question, how long time can a laser cartridge last, if unused or used seldom.

Laser Printers are not desinged nor do they do a good job at printing photos. Something like this would do you well.
