Agreed. I really like the composition of the first one...the white and green top and brown boots mix well with earthy background. But the flash ruined all three of these photos, IMO. Looks like the built-in flash was used from the EXIF data. The built-in flash isn't meant to be used as a primary light source, only for fill light when it's absolutely necessary.

By pointing the flash directly at your subject, it creates hard shadows, and the finer details (such skin tone and the texture of the tree) are completely blown out, as they say. That's the first thing I notice when looking at these. If you find that you need to use flash often, consider investing in a speedlight, and reading up on flash photography.

You may not have even needed flash for these photos, though. I'd experiment with using a higher ISO and lower aperture.
