I've only ever shot my hot hatch and other smallish cars, but today I'm shooting my buddies lifted Chevy pickup. Big giant thing compared to my little hatchback. I told him to bring a stepladder so I can get above it, but what else?

Anyone have an advice on shooting a larger vehicle?

Thanks.

Really, a vehicle is a vehicle. Just move back a little more. The ladder is a good idea and you might want to find some hills or terrain where you can get one wheel up to show off the suspension.

Move way back, zoom in and get low.

though maybe a cliche, close and low with a wide angle or fish eye I think will definitely show the size. Also from my days of getting all of the 4x4 and off road magazines, make sure the wheels are turned. And please, don't take a picture of a lifted 4x4 on asphalt, go find some mud or rocks and having one wheel on a rock or something (like tirediron said) would be cool.

.50 BMG at a minimum if you want to crack the block enough to stop it where it stands. Anything else will barely slow it down at all.

Best of luck!

Warehouse.
Lots of white diffusion material.
A bunch of lights.

You want a 30 foot wide by 30 foot deep by 20 foot high, light box.

The equipment I have availagble to me is in my sig. I am currently saving up for a WA, but I'm not there yet. :(
Wheels turned...got it...
It's also a city truck. Definitely not a rock crawler. I've got a few places in mind, mainly alleys and abandoned buildings.

EDIT: This is the truck. I have permission to post this picture...

Well I'll just head down to WalMart and......WHHHAAAAAT?
:lmao:

Rent!

I do.

'tis not a paid...(dare I say) professional shoot. More like "hey meet me here and I'll take some pics of your truck for your internet forum."

Thanks for the advice though...

Just got done! Two hours, two different locations an alley and a parking garage. Gave him business cards too so he'l pass those along.
Now for some editing!
