Advice please

good evening all. I’m looking for some advice to a question that has propbably been asked 1487346589734569 times.

I currently have the d3500 and I was debating upgrading to the d7500. Or should I invest in more lenses I have just got back into my photography after not picking it up for 12 months and I can’t decide what I should invest in!!

If you’re considering upgrades, start with some good lenses first. A nice prime or a zoom lens is a great choice, depending on whether you like shooting portraits or landscapes. The D3500 is still a great camera; getting better lenses can boost your image quality.

When you feel like you’ve maxed out what your current camera can do or you need some fancier features, upgrading to something like the D7500 could be a good move.

For starters, ROI for camera gear is a myth. It just depreciates. What can a D7500 do for you that your D3500 can't? Suspect you could snag a clean D7200 for even less. Lens choice is purely dependent on what you shoot. The inexpensive Nikon AFS G primes are pin-sharp and great value.

Howdy and welcome! I would lean towards lens over new body. I learned from experience that a new body doesn't necessarily mean better photos. You can find good quality pre-owned lenses (and camera bodies for that matter) at places like mpb.com.
