Sometimes looking in that forum and reading some of the threads just makes me want to gouge my eyes out and forget how to read...

Yes, I understand it's beginners, but seriously, an out of focus photo and selective coloring are not the things you should be "showing off" and putting your watermark on...

I completely understand if you post an OOF photo and ask for CC and we can tell you what you could possibly change to fix the focus next time, but don't come on here saying, "just starting out, what do you think" with a watermark and OOF snapshot...

Again, understand that they are beginners, but OMGOSH! Can't people "google" professional photography or even look on facebook at all the "pros" there and see that their stuff isn't even comparable? Is it that hard?!?!?! No I am NOT by any means claiming to feel like I'm a pro or that I am a pro, but really...

I wouldn't look there for inspiration...

For one, Facebook seems to ruin what are supposedly good pictures.

Not just here - any forum I go to where people host stuff on Facebook, I always see "Ignore the bad quality - it's hosted on Facebook."

OK, so you want C&C, but we're supposed to ignore all the bad things that you say aren't actually bad - you just chose to host it somewhere that makes it look like crap...?

But I'm not claiming to be a pro lol... I post my photos on Facebook for friends and family. Yes I have a page that is called "Seconds in Time Photography" but I am by NO MEANS calling myself a pro. Every single photo on my page is of a friend of family member lol

I didn't say who it was... Just an FYI Because it wasn't just that specific person... It's the fact that it's all the time!

I said I UNDERSTAND it's a BEGINNER'S forum, but why does a beginner need a watermark... Why can't a beginner search for professional photos and then look at theirs and see that they aren't right? And then why can't they just post the original or a lightly "touched up" photo for CC instead of one that is horribly selectively colored, or over sharpened, or just way over processed, etc... We've all seen it several times some people just don't say anything... I just felt the need to vent and the only place to vent about this sort of thing is to a "community" of photographers who understand what I am talking about. I can't go to my mom and vent about this, she'd look at me like I had 6 eyes and 8 ears or something...

I hardly ever post on facebook (and I mean, I might get on there once a month - sometimes less), but when I think that friends and family want to see new pictures - I post a link to Flickr. You want to see some new pictures? Go here.

But....

And I have yet to meet a single person who is not hypocritical about at least one thing... It's a completely natural thing for humans to be hypocritical
