JeffieLove, not to be a dink. But you were that person posting OOF/botched exposure images in the beginners forum and asking why they were that way not too long ago. Just sayin'. This may have been pointed out by other members, but I really didn't read much of the thread other than your post. I just don't think that you're really in the position to be calling other people out on this subject IMO.

Okay, let me clarify what my rant is about...

My rant is about the beginners that come in with watermarked photos thinking they are amazing photographers when all they need to do is find another professional photographer's images (where ever that may be) and see that they clearly are not... I know I am guilty of doing the beginner's watermark thing to when I first started posting here, but quickly realized it wasn't the way to go...

I have several friends who are very good photographers and I have been on other forums that are dedicated to children and family photography and I can clearly see that my images aren't as good as theirs. I want to know what to do to get them there... So when I post my images (unwatermarked for the most part) I will say something along the lines of "I know this is wrong, what did I do wrong, and what should I do to fix it next time?" Most of the time these images are SOOC as well except for the RAW-jpeg conversion... There's a difference.. I'm comparing my work to that of people who I consider to be pro's and I can clearly see that my work is not up to par with theirs. I'm not posting thinking I'm just amazing and already know what I'm doing.. I'm posting for help (most of the time, my "I picked this one for you" thread was more of a share but I said CC was welcome) on almost every thread I post and normally, I'm asking for help on a specific thing...

I don't just post and OOF, underexposed, terribly PP'd image and say, "What do you think?". I ask for help... That's the difference between myself and the noobs that I am ranting about

Let me just make this clear... I'M NOT A PRO, I HAVE A LOT TO LEARN AND I WON'T BE PRO ANYTIME SOON... Even if my friends choose to pay me $20 here and there for their photos, I know I'm not a pro and I don't claim to be BY ANY MEANS.

Is my rant a little more "clear" now?

That one was the one that pushed me to publicly rant... but there are several a day that are similar and it just gets on my nerves

I think I'll just go back to not reading other threads and only posting my own threads and "maintaining" them until I've got the answers I need

I dont even bother replying to new members posts anymore. Most of these people wont come back after 20 posts. Once in a while I reply if the new member has some awesome pics. So this doesnt really bother me anymore. I recognize people who come to this forum a lot and I only respond to those people.

I get a little tired of the same questions repeated over and over, and most times I do pass over new member posts---But then again, they're just here trying to get feedback, too. Guess I'd just treat them the same way I'd like to be treated. Meh.

I hate threads like this.

It's pointless for a few reasons.

1. I don't know what thread you're referencing, but Bitter pointed out that it was a Troll thread, so there's no point in ranting about it.

2. You were a beginner once posting the same sh*t. We all were.

3. When you forget that we all started somewhere, beginners that visit this site see threads like this and are scared to post because they think they'll be chewed out... so the ones with potential just lurk and the ones with overconfidence about the shots you are referring to are going to be the only new members posting, therefore increasing the very type of threads that annoy you.

4. If you don't like the thread, don't comment and move on.

5. There's no harm in saying to a newbie "Hey, you're photo is *terribly* out of focus." If they react badly, you know not to C&C them anymore... but if they react well, you would have taught them something.

6. Newbies get excited about wanting to post... I know I was when I first joined, to the point when I posted some really boring, awful, images from my P&S asking for C&C before I got my DSLR... and if that's the case, just revert to point 5.

I don't really care what the point *is*, this thread makes you look silly.

My favorite is when they do that^^^, ask for and get C&C, then reject C&C stating it is art and doesn't need changing.

Okay, guys....point(s) taken. If you don't like interacting with beginners, stay out of the Beginner's Forum and leave them to their own devices. It's easy to get tired of reading the same questions over and over....such is the nature of an online forum. Shouldn't they do a search first and read older posts before posting a question? Yes. Shouldn't they begin with the humility appropriate to a beginner? Yes. Is it maddening when they don't? Yes. Shouldn't they admit their pictures suck? Yes.

However..... Stay out of the Beginner's forum if this behavior bothers you, because it stays the same regardless of the design or the posted explanations around here. You think there is a majic bullet. There isn't.
