Air Zoo

Cracking set of images, love the lighting in these.

Very well done. I've been in a few air museums and generally the light creates some challenges.

Thank you. I made these @ 320 ISO and used a monopod. Focus/DOF was my main concern at such slow shutter speeds and relatively open aperture. This building was great, the other building was more 'typical' of such places.

My great-great-great and perhaps yet one more great relative in one form or another (most likely an uncle or cousin), Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier flew the balloon (upper left in the 4th frame) in what is believed to be the first manned flight. He later died when his balloon crashed near Wimereux in the Pas-du-Calais during an attempt to fly across the English Channel. He and his companion, Pierre Romain, thus became the first known fatalities in an air crash. It probably has a lot to do with why I hate to fly.

Kudos to his daring!!
To paraphrase something I read years ago...Greatness has been achieved by those who dared to screw up.
Without people like him, we would be nowhere.
