Posted this originally as MisVisions but changed the title, entered into a Regional Photo Show and placed 1st in the Abstract category. It got panned by the TPF group with the exception of Juga who semi-insinuated I copied him - like this shot hasn't been made a 1000 times before, likely 80-90 times by me....ha-ha-ha, but I knew it was a good image and stayed with it to a nice $100 prize end. It's not like the show is a Grand Salon exhibition, but it's still a W in the win column. Just a reminder to everyone who posts on here: don't let anyone else get in the way of your vision, or allow them to change your style just because in their "expert" opinion, it isn't a worthy image, or simply ignore you. Everyone has the potential of a great image. However, on the other hand, I think most novice photographers have a lot to learn from this forum and would not suggest you give up on other's opinions.

Heck, I thought the shot was neat, but I never saw it before. Sometimes it's just a matter of not having the "right people" see the image. Sometimes it's a matter of people expressing their tastes (likes vs. dislikes) rather than discussing the image on it's "photographic merits" alone. Sometimes people just haven't got a damned clue. Sometimes people just don't see your photographic genius where others might.

You never know.
