Allround objective?

[risdessert]

Hello

I want to shoot streetlife pictures and for that I need a allround without a lot zoom.
I have been looking at Tamron’s 17-50 f2,8 and Sigma’s DC 17-70mm f2,8-4,0 Macro HSM OS - (they also fit my pricelimit).

Are there any suggestions or recommendations?

Someone asked about the Tamron recently, and everyone confirmed it's a great lens for the money. It's 3 times cheaper than it's Canon equivalent and just as sharp.
