So the last image i did at the lake here had a blown out sky. Here was the original one.

This is the reshoot.

The post is a little flat on both images because I didnt have my wireless triggers with me. I had to use an on camera flash. Which one do you guys like better

Despite the overexposed sky I actually like the first one better. In the second, there is too noticeable a difference between the temperature of the flash and the ambient light (sunset). If you can, try it again with either a gel on your flash or using a reflector instead to illuminate the post.

See that was what i was thinking when i was looking at the picture. Unfortunately i dont have any gels.

Hows that I dont have any gels so all i could do is put a filter over it that matches the sky

I like the new shot. I like the diffraction spikes from the Sun.

I would dodge, or do a gradient, on the water to the right of the post to bring up the exposure there a bit.

The re-shoot has a MUCH better balance of foreground exposure on the wooden piling, and the sunset on the lake's surface. To me, the balance between foreground and background is pretty good in the re-shoot,and it is my more favored photo of the two.
