I like all of these but i do not like how you processed number two. Way too much for this shot that already had a great scene. Sometimes less is more.

No no, I wasn't clear. The light looks fantastic. Notice how they are STRONGLY rim-lit from the sun behind them (mostly the man). But because the background behind the leaves is dark (almost black) and the "key light" which is the open sky above and in front of them is so strong in relation, the quality of the photo is greatly enhanced. It looks quite professional imo. If that is a straight B&W unmodified from your P&S, I'm really impressed.

No, it was colored, from my p& s. I used iPhoto to process. Speaking of iPhoto... The sun was perfect at that moment, you are right!

Great shots. #3 may be a "snapshot" but your kids personality just comes shining through it. Made me smile. #2 awesome light. #1 I wish was level and a showed a bit more on the edges.

Thanks for the notes on #1. As I was going through these comments & my photos here and on my hard drive I see that I tend to crop too close to the edge.
I was much more aware of that today when shooting my friend (she asked me to take pics of her & her daughter who is leaving to college).

Totally agree- about the photo & PARAGRAPHS! Sorry- I'm on my phone & i appeared to have paragraphs, but apparently didn't

If you go to the forum settings/general settings/miscelaneous and change the default reply setting to standard, and you will maintain paragraph formatting. It's an annoying bug with this forum, and iProducts. But that will solve your problem.
