Perhaps you should try connecting to another one of freenode's servers. In your mirc window (or whatever you use) type:
/server clarke.freenode.net

AAAAAAAARGH!!!! I can't get my messengers to work either. I have no idea what is wrong....this isn't even the computer that crashed yesterday.

I even tried connecting through Java, and i couldn't.

I uninstalled and re-installed, and it still isn't working.

Sky, I tried what you said and it's not working.

Erik said he ran Ewido and spybot today...could that have done anything to it?

Ok...uninstalled both mIRC and Trillian, and re-installed. And still, niether are working.

Erik also said he updated Azureus on this computer today. Would THAT make a difference?

azureus shouldn't make a difference. Perhaps a firewall is blocking the port for IRC.
