I wouldn't use a mirror to take the picture and would put the phone somewhere then use a camera timer function instead. Pretty much like you'd take your own passport picture lol. Silly as it sounds, you can use this guide for a passport photo for taking a profile picture, minus the background and no smiling rules.

Otherwise, how about taking a selfie using a front camera? It would be angled but some photos come off even better this way.

I'd take a selfie because Im the only one I know who looks straight ahead, and not looking down, like everyone does

The people looking down are looking at the phone screen while they take the picture, instead of looking at the phone camera's lens.
