Critiques and comments more than welcome!

Good idea, but I wonder how it'd look with the entire flag?

Yes, if I could go back I'd shoot a few different shots including a full view of the flag.

The only suggestion I would have is to stop down to about f8 and shutter speed to 1/300. That should be around the sharpest point for that lens, still be quick enough for camera shake/flag waving and keep the ISO down.

EDIT:
Although if you want to keep the background as blurred just bring the shutter to 1/500 and you'll bring your ISO down.

That's not America. It's a flag.

Thank you! I will try to slow the shutter speed down a little next time til my ISO comes down.

The photo could say a lot. Like you said, full flag would be nice. I'd drop the blacks a tad. (Try it, you'll see what I mean) I'd also go with more depth of field and bring the background more into the scene. Cool summer scene though. I like it.

A couple weeks, since it says okay to edit.

I prefer the slightly faded look of the flag in the original with natural looking foliage.

The only change I would make is, as others said, a lot more flag would be better.
