I was wondering how you got such good DOF with f/5.6 and i see its because of the focal distance. Nice shots in terms of DOF, i would put more of a solid neutral background behind the guitar though

i like the first more, the second trails off too much, the texture of the guitar in the first also pulls it together well

I know im new but maybe if the whole amp was in focus on the second it would look better? Just a thought.

Wish I had a nice electric though. Mine is just a cheap junk acoustic.

Actually not my guitar. It's my Uncles, and the amp was a rental that he had. But a nice setup regardless. It's actually a BASS amp, not a guitar amp.

I think the focus should be on the first knob with an increased DOF.

I actually did do that shot as well, but I didn't think it looked at good as this one did.

I like the 1st, the DOF's really nice. A wee tip, give it a bit of a dust and polish before shooting, especially around the bridge and pick-up area. The camera will always show up the skank the eye doesn't see (as I discovered recently).

I like the first one, i've always like the way guitar strings go as the focus feathers out. I can see the cutout for the tone control but i can't see the selector, i'd just like to see more! that's my only crit really..

A good dusting and shine is required, i know all about it, took ages trying to get this one clear, little bits kept appearing out of nowhere!
