An extra hard winter coming?

Our Black walnut trees have had a bumper crop of nuts this year & the ground under them is covered in nuts. I have watched squirrels taking nuts from the ground back up the trees - whats with that?

Our squirrels do that every fall. They bury a lot of the nuts too.

I hang corn on the cob threaded onto eye bolts I have hung by picture frame wire from the trunks of a couple of the trees in the yard to help suppliment their walnut stash. Blue Jays and Cardnials like the corn too.

I've been doing a lot of reading about global warming the last few weeks. It's somewhat ironic, but global warming means more severe winter storms even though the winter season is getting shorter and shorter.

We were in geaserland four years ago in February & all those Vultures flying overhead made me nervous.
