Animal Eye focus not working on an R8

I have 2 Canon mirrorless cameras, an R5 and an R8. Animal eye focusing works very well on the R5 and I am familiar with how it works. I have set the R8 up similar to the R5 and it focuses, but not on the eyes. Does anyone have a fix for this?
