CC WELCOME! I have been TRYING to get a good picture.. Portraits to be exact... I did this one yesterday.. He was NOT looking at me so it was better knowing I was using a flash...

Hmm, this does nothing for me in colour. I kind of feel like leaving the thread like lots of people have done. Try converting it to black and white. It doesn't help that he is looking away either.

its a little over exposed, and you have to start looking for composition in your photos, not only take the photo technicaly ok but also the theme of it, I kind of like the fact that the child is looking away but he looks too pale because of the direct flash, try getting a sheet of paper in front of it, the more translucid the better, that way you will soften the flash´s power...

What is it you're not happy about in this shot Holly?

Composition wise try shooting from lower down, slightly looking under the chin. This may create a more interesting angle.
