Another from the rookie :)

C&C per req: Interesting subject matter, but I see a few issues. First is that the image desparately needs to be leveled.... I would also brighten it as it seems to be at least a full stop under-exposed. You might also consider cropping some of the empty space; when you're image consists solely of the subject, than rule of thirds tends not to apply.Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.~John
 
Under exposed, but I like the photo. Just bring up the exposure, and I can live with the color.
 
i think the color issue is a constant problem when shooting nature. animals don't survive by standing out from their environment LOL. photo manipulation (something i'm not good at) maybe the answer
