I gotta say, that's a killer retouching video! I actually learned quite a bit while watching it. I'm just starting to get into portraits and what you did with the shot is amazing. Great work and keep posting more videos!

And while we're at it, we'll need to see what happens when you process pics while watching a variety of genres. I'm voting for old Jimmy Stewart/Alfred Hitchcock movies. :mrgreen:

Awesome stuff, but entirely too much work for final product imo. I think time could have been saved by getting the lighting correct and doing a lot of it in camera and then do your darkening/lightening, but not as much as was needed.

Still fun to see you go at it though, ad thoroughly enjoyed the music!

Again, gotta agree that the majority of this could have been done in camera. Snooted light toward her face, rim light camera right. Kicker/fill from below. Would have cut down the processing time exponentially.

But still, nice work as a final product. I'd just rather lengthen the time behind the camera slightly rather than stare at a computer for hours.

I am somewhat of a fish-out-of-water on this forum, as I'm not really a photographer per say (I get really uncomfortable being called a photographer). I use the camera just to get the clay, and I sculpt in the computer (if that makes sense?)

No, don't get me wrong, post is not a bad thing and I didn't mean to imply that if I did. I was just pointing out some of the effects that you achieved through post, and how they could have been accomplished with light. I hope that clears it up.

Ah ok, yes. Trust me, if I could get closer to that look in camera, I would, but I'm no where close to being that good of a photographer. I haven't been shooting for even a year yet, and my gear is pretty limited (two soft boxes). But I'm progressing. The more I learn about photography, the better my post skills get, too.

It seems I am the eternal student.

Maybe this shot has a chance in the POTM? My 'Day of the Dead' got pummel'd by the Ghosts pic (which is an amazing shot, so I can't be too sad).

Anyway, I have to go edit a six pack onto a 55-year-old body builder from craigslist for his book cover. Probably won't be making a video for THAT.......
