Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I really felt as if some of the trees were a bit soft. I was having a hard time getting them to autofocus. I decided to use my old d40. I also see some specs on the pics. I think some stuff might have gotten on the lens. It was windy and I was shooting on a small beach.Feel free for C&C and suggestions.EXIF -ISO-200F13Aperture 1/4 second. 55mm ( crop)1.

Is that dust on the cloud area or a flock of birds? Can't see clearly enough. Appears to be in the same position on both shots unless they are the same shots with different editing. If it's dust you should get your spot healing brush out, but with this amount of dust you should get your sensor cleaning kit out!

For composition, it's a pity I can't see much of the lake as there looks to be an interesting reflection there. How many shots were these and in what orientation, landscape or portrait? To my eyes they look like 4 portrait or 3 landscape. If using landscape orientation, portrait would give you some of the lake. Otherwise you need to bring the camera down a little.

I have some more. I will check the sensor. I have not used the camera in months. It's been sitting. Could be a reason. Thank for bringing to my attention. I shot it in portait mode. It was 4 shots. There's a good deal of lake in there but I cropped it. Give me a few. I'll post it for you.

It would be better to have 50% more lake and 50% less sky as the hills reveal more sky, and I think the balance would be better. Also I think you could add another two or three shots to this. If you get my meaning, it doesn't LOOK like a panoramic shot at the moment. It needs to be wider as it is not looking too much wider than normal field of vision. The contrast on the second is better but I would still trade 50% of the sky for the lake. The lake will give the shot some context and balance

I only used a regular kit lens so it seemed much more at full focal length than I saw in the view finder. Fortunately, this place is only ten minutes away so I can try again this weekend. Thank you for your input.

Thereyougo, Here you go. I couldnt rememember the exact editing from the first shot but heres one with the lake.

this looks like a better shot to me. Hopefully you can catch it just before dawn or just after sunset when there is most potential for a completely still lake. You will have to added challenge then of constantly changing light, which shooting in the best way with portrait orientation will further challenge. Try to pick a mid zoom length at a medium aperture to keep as much as possible in focus and keep distortion to a minimum. If it's say a 18 - 55, Try to shoot around 25 - 30mm at either extreme you will find more distortion which will affect panos. This is a reasonable starting point though

I will make note of that. Thank you very much .
