how big are these birds, lovely markings

They're smaller than a Redtail but larger than a Kestrel. The markings will eventually fade away to pure white as he gets older. Bumper crop of chicks this year. They put up some fencing to keep people out of sensitive areas and I'm seeing more birds now. Yay!
