Here's another floral set from my outing last week. Soft, even, diffused light continued to make my day.:peacesign:

Thanks for taking the time to stop and look.

Beautiful set Joel :) Nice compositions and beautiful colours. Take this with a grain of salt but I think the last one might be a smidge oversaturated. You seem to be losing detail in some of the petals. I love the colour and contrast in it though.

#3 is there room on the top to add back in again? I think if you can get the rest of the 3rd flower above you might have a nice portrait crop in this one too.

#2 I love the stamen! the large version is wonderful. They look like they are peeking out :)

Judi, thanks for taking the time for some good old honest CC. Unlike every single other outing I've posted pictures from, this outing wasn't really a traditional outing. I had mixed emotions about going out into the fields, just in case the sky opened up. I spotted a local garden center that had a really expansive array of annuals on flats for display. So I went in, found th manager, and asked if I could take some pictures. To my surprise, I was given the run of the place. The manager is also into photography, so after a chat about the world of digital, and my equipment, I went about my shoot that was made in heaven. Space between tables of flats, backgrounds, etc. were tight to say the least.

The white Daisy picture isn't cropped at all. That's exactly how I composed it. I was trying to use the bottom of another white Daisy to fill that black void. Using extension tubes can be a pain at times to switch tubes, which I should have done in hind sight. That Orange Daisy container was brought out by the manager for me to photograph. Seems it's not the natural color. More like they feed it color water. I did adjust the exposure some, and I guess I over did the saturation a bit. Will have to redue it. Thanks for keeping me on the beaten track. As for picture #2, the pedals aren't blowout according to the histogram. Yet not much of the very soft detail comes through when I upload it, compared to what I see on my screen. I have some other pictures of those plants I'll post on Wednesday. Just think about the issues I would have had if I had one of my patented bright sunny day shoots.

That is so cool that he was a photog too! Funny thing, my MIL and I went to town to the co-op to pick up the rest of the stuff for the vegetable garden and ended up stopping at a garden center. The second I walked in I wished I had my camera (it is very rare that I'm without it but figured I better not photogeek out on my MIL, safer to leave it home lol) and my second thought was OMG Joel would LOVE this place lol!!

I think there was a miscommunication on #2, when I said peeking out I meant the stamen lol not that it was badly exposed ;) but you def have to view it large to really see the detail, these large petals are hard to get perfect and you did very well!

Judi, I went back and looked at picture #2 again. You're so right about the stamen being hard to see.
