I thought she was just lifting her hair off her neck, which had quite a sensual import in a great Japanese novel, “Diary of a Mad Old Man,” by Junichiro Tanazaki. This woman was not Japanese, so as Freud didn’t say, “Sometimes a head scratch is just a head scratch.”

This is embarrassing! I took the first one and then spent some time on my phone and then looked up and saw the second shot. I didn’t realize it was the same woman until this minute because you pointed it out!
