Another train station.

I think that I shouldn't wait with sharing my photos so I chose some of my works to show you what I've done in B&W
this three photos was taken on train station in Poland, exactly in Szczecin, that's why inscriptions are in different language

I think that they aren't so bad (but I also know that they can be much better) I really want you to give me some advices or suggestions of taking a better pictures

sorry for my english but I'm still learn it and try to make a progress in it : )

I have also a question. What is the best size of uploaded pictures on this site? I want to know because I don't want to look at my photos in bad quality. : )

Interesting work; there seem to be stories in all of them and the tonal range/contrast generally is handled well. I'm not a fan of such heavy vignetting, but that's really a matter of taste. The first is the weakest of the three - I think the real image is the row of chairs with one occupant and someone else walking past. The windows on the right and the display top center don't really add anything and the people are underexposed, probably due to the light from the windows. I like the way the second one has a lot of symmetry together with a lot of asymmetry.

I don't know why but my pictures here have really bad quality, I think. It's 700x467px and I think they are blurry...

I prefer it to the other shot. Could use some localised dodging. The noticeboard around the man at the back. The radiator behind the man, to the right. The tonal range of the pictures look a little bit restrained. This is certainly a scene which can be rendered (onscreen) with absolute blacks and whites, in certain places. How did you edit? I would first lift the greypoint quite high in Levels. To give you plenty of key for applying a tone-curve. I think the greypoint wasn't light enough to begin with so the curve looks duller than it might otherwise.

If my way of thinking is good, you're telling about higher contrast in this scene? Can you show me what you mean? More black and white tones, and less grey?

Well.. you have the blacks but your mid grey looks more zone 4 than zone 5. I just opened your file and tried a quick edit. Open Levels and boost the midpoint slider from 1.0 up to about 2.0 (or 2.14 which i used). Then open Curves and put a node, dead-centre .. locking that value in position. Add two more nodes above and below, to make an s-curve. Drop the toe, raise the shoulder. Now there's more midtones, better highlights, more contrast.

In terms of tone, in my opinion, somewhere in between this and the original edit. This is too strong, the previous one is more natural but too dark.
