Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
From the same set of shots I took, I was reluctant to edit this shot due to the tree to her right and the blown out highlights but I gave it a go and came up with this edit.

How'd I do?

Looking good Trever1t, i can't wait to mess with my flash this week so i can achieve some nice effects like that. Do you think her skin is a bit soft compared to the fence, maybe sharpen it up a tad.

thank you. I did sharpen so slightly but wanted to preserve her softness.

I thought this shot lost to over exposure, glad I went back and took a second look. ;)

Bump for more attention ;)

Looks good!

It does look like you missed your focus a bit though... The fence is tack sharp, and her eyes are a bit oof.....

Thank you. It may be in the selective sharpening....I'm really new at Portrait photography as anythng more than snapshots. Always looking to improve my skills, I appreciate the feedback!!!

Nice job. I like the highlights on her hair and lips, and the highlights on her shirt don't bother me all that much. I agree with everyone about the background being too sharp, people tend to pop out more when the background is OOF, your beautiful wife should be what stands out the most, but my eyes wander to the knots in the wood.

Try using a wide aperture and focus on the eyes... you will still get softness on parts of the face, hair, and most importantly an OOF background that is really close to the subject. I'm no portrait professional, but that's what I would do.

Agreed. I did use the widest aperture but I had her pose too closely to the fence. I'll remember to distance my background more in the future. ;)
