Any IR filter for Sony NEX 5 (49mm)

Hi.

I just got a new camera and I have always loved IR photos.
I want to get an IR filter for this camera.
Does any 49mm IR filter work (I say 49mm since that's the diameter of the lense I got with the camera).

There's several different type of IR filters out there. They are rated according to their cut-off wavelength
Typically 720nm or 950nm. The higher the wavelength the more dramatic the effect, but also the lower the amount of usable light. On top of that digital camera also have an IR cut filter on the sensor. This means you either end up fighting two filters against each other and putting up with 10sec exposures or you will need to modify the camera.
