Anyone does any kind of Painting?

I was always so envious of people who could draw. I can't. Not at all. Not even my stick figures are passable......My lack of drawing ability was one of the things that led me to photography in the first place.

I oil paint, unfortunately I cannot paint well or draw well. Thus, I label all of my work abstract.

I majored in fine art and commercial art in school, I've painted in oils, acrylics and watercolor, I prefer acrylics. Over all, I prefer to work in soft pastel, but frankly don't bother much with any of them anymore. Supplies are too expensive and finding a spot in the house to work where I can leave things set up is impossible and I don't have the patience to unpack supplies each time I feel like painting or drawing.

Lol same here. Most of my still life's turned into "abstract impressionism" very quickly. "This blob represents a bowl of fruit and this hole in the canvas represents where I got frustrated and kicked it."

I used to paint and draw. It takes so much more time and space than photography. I'm hoping at some point I will get back into it. I used to sell work to a decorative flag company back in the day...hehe Anyone remember when everyone had some kinda goof flag hanging outside of their house with a cat or something on it...yeah I designed and sold some of those. =)

I need to find one of those flags and hang it outside. Hopefully it'll attract some nice birds so I can take some nice shots
