What's new

Anyone else (both new and vet photographers) have an issue "letting go" of pictures?

The problem with this question is that it has very little to do with photography and most to do with being a parent...

Nope not at all. I used my kid as an example, but I have pictures of the moon I don't want to delete.

I have a hard time deleting as well! I am getting a little better though in trying to take fewer but better photos. Keeping one versus ten if you get my drift. I have been contemplating what to do with all the 'crap' and more than likely will end up flushing them.

I have issues - I never delete. Anything. It's a bad habit...

In that case, maybe a difference should be made between personal and work photos. Although I do not get rid of any family/personal photos (I am actually the keeper of my extended family's photos,) I have no such problem with work related shots.

But it depends what it is also. Negatives are stored in sleeve pages and are easier kept as strips which also make them easier to stick in an enlarger so I keep everything but, slides and other transparencies, I never had a problem tossing all the garbage. Same with digital.
