Anyone using a pair of gloves?

Just curious, since now is winter season, I'm going to shoot out door at raceway the whole day. It is going to be very chilly. Does anyone uses a pair of gloves to shoot with your dslr? I have one pair with SmarTouch, These take me a while to get use to.

I have some light gloves I use sometimes. They are similar to driving gloves or baseball batting gloves.

They don't keep your hands very warm (better than nothing though) - but the gloves that DO keep your hands warm aren't very good for rolling control wheels or pressing small buttons.

I have a pair of the Smart touch gloves I use sometimes, but they're aren't very warm. If it gets really cold, or I plan to be out for quite a while, I use these:

Well anyway, you can still see it. The thumb and first two fingers have little "pockets" so you can have just the fingertips exposed.

Amongst all the various gloves in my closet, I have a pair a pair of POLARTEC runners gloves that are lightweight and good for all around coverage. Just a thin layer to keep the chill off.

US Army issued snipers gloves and a chemical hand warmer in the coat pocket. Works like a charm.

First I use Lens Coats on my lenses; this adds a rubbery and then fabric layer that insulates the lens a bit. It lets you shoot longer without gloves without your fingers getting chilled from contact with the lens (esp if you're using a larger and all metal barrel lens).

After that its time for gloves; sometimes I'll use two different sets - a thicker one for my left hand that is still more of the time and only needs basic grip for focusing and zoom wheels; whilst a thinner set for the right hand which has the bonus of being able to move around more for the controls.

I use a pair of thin under armour running gloves. They work well, are thin enough to allow me to change settings, but provide an extra layer of heat for my hands.

My second shooter made me a pair of fingerless gloves with some fancy yarn. I love them. They are really warm and I still can control everything.

In the style of these, they make gloves that look like mittens... except the mitten part folds back and expose fingerless gloves. They're great for keeping your hands and fingers warm, but quickly allowing you to have access to finger tips.

Do a Google image search for something like "gloves with pull-over mittens" and you'll find a lot of options.

I wear winter golf gloves. They work as well as anything I've tried. Some hand warmers in my pockets for when I can let my camera hang.
