Anyone using: Novoflex ClassicBall 5?

Hi,

Just want to find out if anyone around here is actually using the Novoflex ClassicBall 5? If so how do you find the ballhead, any issues?

I guess that means no one uses Novoflex ballheads around here...

In anycase I am in the market for a ballhead and want to buy the best I can for the money I have saved up. Although I have about Eur600 for ball/q-release combination it doesn't mean I want to throw money down the drain just to buy for "name". Unfortunately I live in a place where it is impossible to go and have a look at some of the better ballheads because they are not stocked. So in essence I have to rely on what other people say, reading endless of reviews (some of which doesn't have a lot of reviews in anycase).

The easy thing would to go and buy any cheap ballhead out there but somehow I can't see myself doing that. I really want to have a proper ballhead and tripod. I got myself some good lenses and don't want to skimp on footing...

Candidates:

Novoflex: CB5 or CB3II
FLM: CB-58FTR
FOBA: Superball Balla
Arca-Swiss: Monoball Z1 DP

These are all in about the same price range...All I have to do now is speak to the crystal ball...

I have an Arca-Swiss B1 Monoball and I'm very happy with its performance. The Arca-Swiss ballheads use a patented aspherical ball that does work very well in use. I've never used the Novoflex but I don't think it could do any better than the Arca-Swiss Z1.

Well just thought I'd post a bit of update here...

I did eventually buy the Novoflex ClassicBall 5 and couldn't be happier. I know everyone loves something different and I know the other brands are just as good if not better but this one was the one for me
