Finally a flower shot I'm pretty happy with!
C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Great shot, Judi.

Couple of things you can try and see how you like it. First, lighten up the shadows of the petals on the left side. Also, try rotating it to the right. A bunch! Rotate it so the out of focus bud is nearly vertical and the branch runs diagonally across the frame. If you don't like, nothing lost ;)

Thank you Lizardking, Scott and Greybeard :)
Scott thanks for the suggestion, I will try that tomorrow and post the results.

Judi, nice going girl. I like your composition, and you certainly nailed the exposure. Glad to hear that spring has finally arrived flower wise up north by you. I'm curious to see how Scott's suggestions work out. If you try them, please post it for us.

I think that Mother Nature got slightly mixed up yesterday and early this morning, as winter returned to Long Island. Temps got down into the low 30's, and my HEAT went ON. Last week I had the AC on as it was in the 80's for a few days.

Thanks Joel :) Me too! things are slowwwwly coming alive here, I figure within the next couple weeks things should start to look alive again. More birds should be arriving also, I saw two Blue Herons go over the house yesterday, what a sight!
I'm definitely going to try Scott's suggestions and will post the results, I like where he is going as an alternative :)

Mother Nature is having quite the year everywhere it appears. Three days ago we had snow and a good amount of it, I hope she is done with it now!

Judi, in all my 64 years, and living here for on LI for 51 plus years, this is the 1st winter that I can recall where it snowed just once, and the total accumulation was about 2 inches.

Crazy!
We live in the snowbelt and normally get a good amount of snow even on years that it "doesn't snow much" because of squalls coming off the lake. We know that winter has officially started when the Jet Stream rises above us and stays there. This year it never did that, it kinda waved around like a hose on the ground. The original forecast for our area in Farmers Almanac, which echoed other models was "copious amounts of snow". Apparently something to do with El nino/ La nina cancelling each other out or some such thing (can't remember the specific details) made it the winter that never was.

Some how good old Mother Nature evens it out over the long run. Last year we had a near record number of snow storms, so averaging the last two years, it's about what it should have been.
