Picture 1:
This Lens is FRIGGIN AWFUL OMG MY EYES MY EYES !!!

Seriously, check out the legs of the bird. Dont remember the last time I've seen this strong CAs.

Obviously crop more / get closer, its not a negative space image really. And IMHO keep the second bird out of the shot, its just distracting not adding anything.



Picture 2:
Nothing really wrong with it, except whats the point ? Its not a pretty motive, the background is bland, the depth of field is very small but whats in focus is of no interest.

Pic1: You are correct, I noticed it before, the lens is Sigma 70-300.
Pic2: If we leave this point of interest, technically how else it can be improved ?

I would say you have editing issues as much technical. Bird image is too contrasty, noisy, lacks balance. The other image is more subtle. Both image have highlights that distract from the image. The eye goes towards the brightest part of the image. This can ruin image flow.

Lets leave the first image, on near to max zoom, lens is causing this, which after increasing saturation gets more highlighted.

For the 2nd image, the background needs to be darkened a bit ?

The first image has lots of editing issues too much too discuss. The second one the top pod with is out of focus has a horrible specular highlight. Background is fine. The second image is much better than the first. What helps with asking for input is too add the raw untoned image and your settings. That makes it easier to see what you did or what needs changed.

Next time I will keep this in mind, to post raw too, for now I have deleted it, since I was just practicing or I will try to re-shoot.

I generally think that asking "are these any good" is never a good approach to receiving constructive criticism and or advice. Being "good" is very subjective. Technically speaking they are not up to snuff. However, you may like them so that would make them "good" in your eyes. It also might help to know what equipment you are using(or more specifically your settings), how it was edited and what your intentions are.

#2 should have the entire cluster in focus, the background out of focus.
