Asking for Critique on My First Model Photos

She is out of focus in all of them.

Amputated legs, out of focus, landscape instead of portrait aspect ratio, cluttered background, no lighting control (reflector or fill-flash would be good), but it's a start. Don't give up. Study the greats.

#1.. don't cut off body parts...
#2 People are vertical.. shoot in vertical format unless there is a reason to do otherwise (this also helps to not cut off body parts!)
#3 More subject, less background (unless the background enhances the photos.. this one does not!)
#4 The eyes are the windows of the soul... we can't see her eyes except in one shot... and not well then.
#5 Focus is critical.. unless there is a reason for something to be out of focus....
#6.. Don't cut off body parts! :)

Thanks for your help folks. I knew she was out of focus, but I thought the candid laughing shots would be liked. Thanks again. I shall try again!!!

It's good to put up photos for critique, you can learn a lot that way...but you need to be the first person to critique your own photos.

Before lighting, before exposure, you need to be able to create photos that are in-focus. If you haven't done that, then the rest doesn't really matter.

As for the 'candid laughing' aspect...that really only works if the viewer has some type of connection. If it's just a girl in the wood, laughing (but not looking at the camera), then we really don't have a connection and it just looks like a missed shot. Even if they were in focus, the first two are still probably fit for the recycle bin.

Keep trying and posting for critique. :)

None of these shots are "Alternative" in nature, so I've moved this thread from the Alternative Photography forum to one more suited for what it is. :)

what were your intention dragging this woman out to the forest?
