Took this shot yesterday at Bay Du Dor as she gazed out over the water. The colours didn't add anything for me so I decided to go with B&W.

Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks for taking a look!

Reminds me of a very old image, in some ways. This is somewhat romanticized, iconic, archetypal. I like the way the wind is pushing the water toward her. It's really a simple, yet well-balanced and also interesting composition: about half foreground flowers and plants, and about the same amount of wind-driven lake water, and then the figure, taking in the scene before her, while we watch her, as observers, the camera in effect representing the viewpoint of observing an observer. AGAIN, this is an archetypal image. It's hard not to want to shoot a frame like this when you see it. Nice shot, Judi.

Well, okay; Derrel said in a hundred words what I was going to say, "Nice - it has a very 1930s romantic mood to it."

One hundred words? I counted 104 words, with the two hyphenated words, well-balanced and wind-driven, counted as one word each...just sayin... ;-)

Yes, but since your words were "typed" I used the printer's construct of a word being equal to five characters and one space which came out to 100.333 words; I rounded down! :greenpbl:

I'm thinking along the same lines as Lew, seems to have a harsh look; unfortunately one of the first things I wondered was what was done to this picture? I feel like I noticed the processing more than the picture otherwise I like the idea and composition.

Well TiredIron summarized what Derrel said in 100 words already, and scrolling down it looks like Barb already added a ditto.. huh.. so, um.. I guess I gotta go with:

^^^^

Lol

Thanks so much all!

Lew and Sharon, thank you, I do like this edit but I can see the charm in something a little less contrasty (I think that may be what is causing what you are seeing) I'll tinker and if I come up with something I'll post it.

Ok I tinkered a bit, better?
(note image straightened as tirediron suggested in post below)

Oops! I see it now, amazing how much of a difference a tiny tilt makes once you see it! I straightened and replaced the above image, thanks John :)
