automatic photo/video backup to a home hard drive from Android phone

If a person is in Mexico (who has a habit of losing photo taking devices lol) is there a way to automatically backup photos from a phone to a home based hard drive?
If it matters the hard drive would be in Canada.

I'm not a network specialist but I'd think you'd have to make the hard drive available (via a computer) on the net. The most obvious way, to me, is to backup to the cloud, then download (manually) to the hard drive later if they really need to.

Hi there - I have used Synology Photos which is great if you use a Synology NAS drive....

I then use CloudSync (another Synology app) to sync from the Synology to my cloud storage (using Webdav but there are provided plugins for most of the major cloud drive providers) automatically whenever changes occur.
