Automotive Photographer

I'm looking for an automotive photographer to do some Interior/Exterior Studio style shots of a Hummer H2. I'm in Houston Texas and found nothing in Google. What hourly rate should I expect to pay? Thanks for any help!

Most photographers work for a daily rate + expenses. I'd charge you about $5000 plus the air fare and hotel for that job, as you're gonna need a big studio on the ground floor!

I wouldn't recommend me for the job though - I'm rubbish at car photos!

I would advise you to define more closely the end result you want - presumably some rights free images, but how many and what are they to be used for? Then draw up a contract for a photographer to supply this result and agree what will happen if you're not satisified with the work.

You could see if Littleman is interested. He is in the San Antonio area but he takes quite a bit of car pictures. Just shoot him a PM.

$5000 seems like a lot to you right now, but trust me, when you've spent two days of back-breaking work producing the goods and then another week or so fiddling with the damn product until it's just right, it seems too cheap!! That's about $100 per hour, which is fair for hiring someone with specialist knowledge.

Those kind of jobs only come around once a month or so even if you could do every one of them (location permitting!) it's not millionaire territory.

Others might charge less, but it's all in the results. I guarantee happiness or your money back. The whole thing project managed, start to finish with the client getting precisely what they have paid for - that's what people need to pay extra for.

I still suck at taking car pictures. Just don't get em for some reason. Give me a model and I'm happy though.
