Sorry but I don't see anything in this image that indicates that HDR was needed. The dynamic range in the seen could easily be captured in a single image.

I also don't find any subject in the image that will keep a viewers attention.
 
The clouds seem blurry from movement. Could that be from the time required to shoot 5 shots? The white snow at the bottom seems burned out and clipped. I'm trying to figure out what the subject is. HDR isn't going to give you a subject and interesting photo. HDR is only a technical tool to help when we are faced with exposure issues.
 
I see your points.

The sun was shining very brightly presenting very high contrast but just as I fired off the 5 shots it went behind a cloud. The result was a very flat image that I wondered if a B&W conversion would rescue.
 
I wondered if it was changed into a line type drawing because of the high contrast of the white snow.
