My wife was weeding a week or so ago and while she was shoveling through the thick weeds, her shovel was met with a terrible scream. After abruptly running away, she came and got me. Upon investigation, we found these little guys!
The photos aren't the greatest because once we discovered the nest, I didn't want to keep them exposed for long. So, I snapped a couple photos and covered them back up.
Anyway, these are more for the "awwweeeee" factor than anything else
1. The unmistakable ears was the first clue.

2. Then this little guy (or gal) poked it's head up to investigate.

3. I also didn't realize how many of them there were, all moving about to jockey for a top spot in the pile.

4. Then we covered the nest back up and left them be. A few days later, the were all gone, hopping about the yard.
