This is one of those, "I really like it...but" shots. But, I don't like the "bumps" on both hilltops as they distract from the abstract quality of the image. There was a slight lens warp dip in the center easily corrected and most distracting, a dip in the lower left foreground grass that created a shadow area that also tended to draw my eye away from the overall scene. Obviously, you can't reshoot so the next best thing is to do a little PP work and augment as needed or desired. This is just my take on the scene and as such should only be construed as different, not better. I might even clone out the foreground trees where the grass meets the hilltops.

I really like your treatment of this, but I struggle with the composition. The bumps I like and would really keep, but I do agree with BD's crop. To me the original has no correlation, or relationship, between the horizontal banding in the sky and the foreground. If you remove the top clouds then the bright band before the horizon is echoed (but reversed) in the band of blue sky above the clouds. Without looking at BD's crop I came up with exactly the same balance. It's simple, it works and within it you see the detail in the part that's different, the hills (the top and bottom are just repeats of each other, the light almost moving in opposite directions, making the hills static).
