I've had my D7000 for about 6 months now and it definitely has back focusing issues with certain lenses. I first noticed it with the 18-105 kit lens at close focusing. I usually use a single point in the center or continuous. I was suspicious that it might be back focusing when things just looked a little too soft so I pulled out tape measure, stretched it across the table and took several shots at the 12" mark. With the fine tuning set at 0 it was about 1 inch off at the closest focus point. With the fine tuning set to -20 it is just about spot on. The odd thing is that it is just about this far off with my Tamron 17-50 and my 35mm f/1.8. It is even -7 with my 105 Macro. It is spot on however with my 55-200 and it is spot on with all my older screw drive AF lenses like my 50mm AF-D, my 28-85mm and my 70-300. They are all spot on. Anybody else experience anything like this?
