Took this shot yesterday as the sun was about 2hrs from setting.

What I see:
Under-exposed 1/3 stop or so, some detail lost in the blacks.

I agree, a reflector would have been great to fill her front. Her hands are in an awkward position. I think they would have looked better on her waist

Which ones? There are none to speak of. It's a solid black mass.

Get/make yourself a reflector. Or two. Or three.

Or make yourself a diffuser.

They are both useful and are often used together in case of harsh light.

Not a good idea to use back lighting when your wife is wearing all black. There is no detail left to the front half of her body. You have successfully turned her into a blackhole. Other then that though the picture is okay. She looks happy to be posing for you. I always like when my wife likes to pose for me.

Yeah, she has to be prodded a bit but once she's in front of the lens she likes to ham it up

I think a few reflectors will solve your problem with the blacks. I kinda like the pose. She is gorgeous and her expression is natural. On a side note: I love those boots! Where did she get them?
