Bald Eagle in Flight

[KJ_North]

Finally caught him flying around today. Lighting was not the best very overcast for the most part. I had my extender on as I didn't expect anything up close today. However I got some shots!

Very nice set! I'm guessing it is a juvenile since it is lacking the white head feathers and still has the yellow around the beak.

Yes correct he's a young one.

Fantastic set! Awesome detail. Number three strikes me as POTM material.

Are there any Eagle expert on here? Some are saying this might be a Golden Eagle not a Bald Eagle. I have no idea but am basing it on the feet.

Nice.

Great capture.

I grew up in DC and Maryland and never saw one in the wild until 1999, and even those were in Nova Scotia. More recently, I've seen a few in MD, and several in Maine. A few weeks ago, while at a landscaping workshop, we had one fly right over our heads, at about 20 feet.

I'm sticking with Bald eagle juvenile...it's feet/legs look exactly like every bald Eagle I've photo'd....great captures and congrats on the POTM award!
