Bald Eagle

The eagles are migrating through my area. According to the wildlife refuge, more than 300 bald eagles have travelled through.

I took this at the refuge. I was a little bummed that it was a cloudy day, but I was close to an eagle, so I can't complain too much. This guy caught a fish in the lake and flew just a few feet over my head on his way to the tree. I could feel the air move from his wings. Pretty amazing!


These two are from a place closer to where I live, but I couldn't get nearly as close. They aren't nearly as good as my friend having his dinner. The trees were full of eagles. More than half are younger, so they don't have the white heads and tails, but still definitely bald eagles.

The top and bottom eagles are mature, the one middle and left is a juvenile.

Wow! That is allot of eagles! Don't see many here in South Arkansas

Apparently, they come up the Missouri River EVERY year and I never knew it! I've lived near the river all my life. How could I miss something this awesome? Now I know. I'll go back to the right places in the fall and try again. Maybe with better light.
