Do you have access to a fast short tele, like an 85mm f/1.8 or something like that? Or a 50mm f/1.4 lens? something truly "fast"?

I have no prime lenses at this time, and my 70-200 2.8 is probably my best bet.

At this time, I have

Tamron 70-200 2.8
Tamron 17-50 2.8
Tamron 10-24 3.5
Canon 18-135 3.5

Is this representative of the lighting that will be present at the recital?

My experience is that the lighting will be overall somewhat lower, even though the stage lights will be on.

My granddaughter had her recital on Sunday, and I used my 85mm (sitting way back in the audience) and cranked the ISO to the max on my D5000.
