Barred owl at last light

Few Owl shot's before sunset a few days back.....

Looks like a small rodent is hooked in the talons.....Was getting pretty dark for this pic

Was this a chance encounter ... or did you expect the owl to be there ? (tip for wanna be wildlife photographers ...)

You have a very exceptional lens. Nikkor 200-400mm f/4.0 VR ?? I think it costs as much as my car.

Yes using a 200-400F4 Vr Nikkor lens, love that lens!

Yes I new he would be there. Male and female have a nest about 400 yards from the Eagle nest I have been posting. Hoping to get some little Owl pics this spring!
