Some shots from today. Somehow I ended up with a bunch of slides that I liked, so there are a few of those. I've also been playing around with the processing, trying to find something I like. Feedback is of course appreciated.

Considering the relatively small number of possible actions shots in baseball, it is a challenge to come up with something either new or compelling.
I think its important to fill the screen as much as possible with the important stuff.
In the first shot you have a tight rectangle of potential impact that could be really interesting.
Unfortunately it is OOF, either motion or at the wrong end of the lens' ability.
I might have shot at a higher iso and closed the lens a stop or two and uped the speed to get it more in the sweet spot of the lens and stop teh action..

The more I look at this photo, the less I like it. It was in focus, but it was relatively small in the frame so cropping in on a picture taken with this particular lens doesn't always work too well. I also shot these for a web publication which asks me to shoot Medium / Basic jpegs so there is a further reduction in quality. Besides that, the batter is holding the bat in a bit of an awkward manner and the ball looks like it is headed for his hands. I also didn't capture his face. I'll go through some of the others and see if I can find a better shot to start out with, and try out a similar crop to yours. I hadn't thought to crop in that close but it makes sense and gives a bit of intimacy between the viewer and the athlete.
