The last stop of my long road trip from Chicago to Newfoundland and back was the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. It was a productive stop.

I've been there and have wanted to go back. I was working in that market and decided to go after work. I wasn't prepared, all I had was 50mm micro and 100 speed film. If I'd have brought a tripod, I could have managed it. It's really a stunning church. Nice set. Some day, I'll get back there.

WOW! Nicely captured!
Thank you, Jeff

The first time I went there they gave me a hard time about taking pictures. This time, there was no problem at all. I found the tripod to be essential given the range of light to control. And, I like to use a wide angle lens for many of the interior shots.

I found that if I put a few pounds or dollars in the donation box, permission would be granted forthwith.

You have captured this church's beauty in a way that will certainly increase the traffic of it's visitors.
Thanks Dean...amazingly, I think this is already one of the top tourist attractions in the state of Indiana.
Some very nice images there...
Thank you

That can certainly be the case.

You should see all the treasures they have in the display cases that spans a whole wall. They're in a seperate room that he didn't show here. It truly is a beautiful church, breath taking for sure.
